Joy's Peanut Butter Crisscross Cookies

Recipe History:

Ingredients:

1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup peanut butter.


3 cups flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions
  • Cream shortening, sugars, eggs, vanilla. Stir in peanut butter.
  • Sift dry ingredients, then stir into creamed mixture.
  • Drop by rolled tablespoons on an ungreased cookie sheet. 
  • Press each with the back of a floured fork to make crisscrosses. (Hershey's kisses can be added on top of each cookie, if desired.) 
  • Bake at 350 for 9-10 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
