Recipe History: This is a cookie (also known as Sandies) that Grandma Norma made during every Christmas season! (It's very similar to Mexican wedding cookies.)
Ingredients:
1 cup butter or margarine
1/3 cup sugar
2 tsps. water
2 tsps vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
1 cup chopped pecans
Directions
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add water and vanilla. Mix well.
- Add flour and pecans.
- Chill 3 or 4 hours.
- Shape into balls or fingers.
- Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet in a slow oven (325) about 20 minutes.
- Cool slightly, then roll in powdered sugar and store in an airtight container.
