Recipe History: This easy recipe is from a recipe club and as good as any dish you'd order at a Chinese restaurant!
Ingredients:
1 lb flank steak
4 tbsp soy sauce
4 tsp conrstarch
1 tsp oil
2 lbs fresh broccoli
6 tbls oil
3 tbsp dry sherry
1/3 cup water
4 tsp minced fresh ginger
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
Directions:
- Trim fat from meat, slice steak into thick slices and then slice each thick slice into thin rectangles
- Mix soy sauce, cornstarch and 2 teas oil
- Toss mixture with meat and let marinade.
- Wash broccoli and cut flowerets into bite sized pieces. Trim some of the stalk into thin slices.
- Heat large, heavy skillet or wok and add 3 tbls oil. Heat until hot.
- Sir in the broccoli and stir-fry ove medium-high heat until coated with oil. Sprinkle with Sherry and cook 1 minute.
- Sprinkle with water, lower heat and cook, covered, until crisp tender a few minutes.
- Remove broccoli to a serving plate and keep warm.
- Heat remaining oil; add ginger and red pepper, stir briefly
- Add beef and stir fry until cooked, approx 5 minutes.
- Spoon beef onto serving plate with broccoli.
- Serve with Rice.
